Students from all over the world are meeting and learning through Webster University Online, MA programs. A sizable portion of these students use the online degree courses to complete entire degrees. Others take a both online and in-class courses. It depend on the individual student in terms of time constraints, or location because of job or other commitments.
The classes operate just like traditional classes. The difference is, students have a whole week to read through assignments, discuss and debate on line, and complete and forward assignments by the end of the week. Online students are in regular contact through the week with other students and the instructor. Communication is normally just like email and use of websites: read, respond, and get feedback through the 24 hour day, or through the week. Students never have to get online at a given hour. Classes are small, so there is opportunity to know the class and the instructor.
At our physical locations, students report that online is more demanding, more in depth and focuses on individual students, making it even more effective than in class study. Students report studying more and learning more as opposed to in-class courses.
