It is an MBA, not an EMBA -- taught fully in English by US/EU instructors from Webster University.The program is a joint-venture, between Webster University and The University of Science and Technology China (UESTC), Chengdu and most of the MBA candidates from
Chengdu, China. Students attend class almost all weekends one day a week. There¡¯s more to during the week with study, team preparations and knowing more about China. The Chinese students in class speak, write and read English.
MBA in Chengdu. Chengdu is the new R&D and manufacturing location for global companies like Intel, Agilent, Boeing, Ericson, Timken and Nokia. You¡¯ll find dramatic Wal-Mart, CarreFour, and even IKEA stores in Chengdu.
Chengdu is a great place to learn about China and start or enhance your ability in Chinese. TIME Magazine (2.08.07), said, ¡°Overall, foreign direct investment in Chengdu totaled $1.9 billion from 2001 to 2005. The results have been spectacular. GDP growth in Chengdu averaged 13.3% between 2001 and 2005, outpacing Shanghai's 11.9%.¡±
The Webster-UESTC MBA. The MBA Program in Chengdu uses the same, core courses as other Webster programs in the USA, London, or Geneva. It is fully-accredited in the US, and approved by the Beijing Ministry of Education. Courses are transferable to any other Webster MBA sites, or Online. UESTC is known in China, nationally, for its science and technology graduates, and for its innovation and product development.
Webster University in China has been providing MBA Education in China since 1997, including programs in Shanghai and Shen Zhen. All qualified students from any country are welcome to this Chengdu, Webster-UESTC program. Applicants or transferees should have necessary academic and work requirements. They must be able to pass PRC visa requirements. UESTC provides an English language staff that can provide help, and guidance.
Semester (9-week) courses are available, individually, or the entire program is available for new MBA students. This is not a Chinese language program, and none is required.
Chengdu MBA Program Meets only on Weekends. There is plenty of time to explore, any place in China, but it is especially convenient for Western China. You might find yourself in Tibet.
Self-teach or Attend Chinese Language Class. The MBA program is designed for Chinese MBA students allowing them to work in a company during the week and take class only on weekend, but visiting international students can use the extra, weekday time to explore, and even learn Chinese language, the very basics, or improve to reach higher levels. The Webster staff and UESTC staff will help you find the right credit or non-credit Chinese language program. Or, you can explore and find your own, innovative way to increase your use of Chinese.
